Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at University of Houston
Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about my personal and professional background. My name is Marcos Cabrera and I am the founder and lead designer of City Design.
I am of Central American nationality but came to Houston at an early age so I consider myself a native Houstonian. I grew up in the Spring Branch community and grew up enjoying sports, the arts, social sciences, literature and many other fields but settled on architecture during my last year in High School.
After High School I attended the University of Houston and obtained my bachelors degree in 2008. I obtained my professional start with Colby Design, a residential design firm located in Houston. I began my time there as an assistant draftsman and moved up to project manager, serving in that role for 8 years there prior to opening my own practice.
City Design was established as an independent practice in the summer of 2018. Since then we have executed projects of all types and sizes throughout the Houston region and around Texas taking on everything from simple permitting projects to small remodels and larger new-construction projects.
